Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Takehiro Tomiyasu has passed his medical and is going to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from Bologna on summer transfer deadline day.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Bologna central defender Tomiyasu has just completed his medical and is set to become an Arsenal player.
The SkySport and The Guardian journalist has claimed that the 22-year-old Japan international, who can also operate as a right-back, has signed a deal with Arsenal.
Sky Sports had earlier reported that Arsenal have agreed a deal with Bologna over Tomiyasu.

It seems that it is only a matter of time before Tomiyasu is announced as a new signing at Arsenal.
The Japan international is only 22, and there is no doubt that he will get better and progress in the coming years.

What is very interesting about the youngster is that he can play as a right-back or as a centre-back.
This means that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is basically getting two players for the price of one.
Tomiyasu scored two goals in 31 Serie A appearances last season, and scored one goal and gave three assists in 29 league games in 2019-20.
