David James has said on Sky Sports News (11:23am, August 31, 2021) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal should make a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore on summer transfer deadline day.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper believes that Wolves winger Traore would be perfect for Arsenal.

The Sky Sports pundit has pointed out that Arsenal need players to create chances for their strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

James said on Sky Sports News (11:23am, August 31, 2021): “Traore, he has to go to Arsenal.”

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa goalkeeper added: “When Arsenal are looking for someone who is going to create goals for the likes of Aubameyang, Lacazette, well, Traore is the perfect fit.”

Arsenal to move for Adama Traore?

Traore has actually been linked with Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

David Ornstein has written in The Athletic today (Transfer Live blog, 9am, August 31, 2021) that Wolves want £50 million for the winger amid interest from Spurs.

Arsenal are unlikely to pay £50 million for Traore, especially on summer transfer deadline day.

Even for £50 million, Wolves may not actually be willing to sell the former Aston Villa star.

After all, the Wanderers will need to sign a suitable replacement for Traore, described as “unique” by former Wolves boss and current Tottenham head coach Nuno in Football.London this month.

Would Traore make Arsenal better?

Of course, he would.

The winger is quick, very strong, can put in wonderful crosses, and can be unplayable on his day.
