Celtic playmaker Ryan Christie is nearing a move away from the club – and he’s set for a move to the Championship with Bournemouth.
That’s according to The Scotsman, who claim that Bournemouth have now pushed themselves to the front of the queue for Christie’s signature.
Premier League clubs have been heavily linked with Christie of late, but it seems that the Championship side are now winning the race.
It’s claimed that Bournemouth are ‘increasingly confident’ of securing Christie’s signature on deadline day.
Christie’s contract expires in January, meaning this is the final chance Celtic have of getting a fee for the playmaker.
The 26-year-old recorded seven goals and 15 assists for Celtic last season, and his contract situation has unsurprisingly attracted major interest.
Ange Postecoglou has called Christie ‘fantastic’ and kept naming the Scot in his starting lineups, even whilst knowing he could walk away in January.
This is a double blow for Celtic, as The Telegraph’s John Percy claims striker Odsonne Edouard is scheduled to have a medical at Crystal Palace.
With Jota and Giorgos Giakoumakis seemingly on their way in, Celtic are moving quickly to replace two important players.
