Jermaine Jenas has said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:47pm, August 30, 2021) that he does not agree with what Paul Pogba said about his challenge on Ruben Neves during the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United.

What’s the story?

United won 1-0 against Wolves in the Premier League yesterday, but it was a controversial goal from Mason Greenwood.

In the build-up to the goal, there were suggestions that Pogba had committed a foul on Wolves midfielder Neves.

The United midfielder went for the ball with Neves and caught him.

Wolves players felt that the United star had committed a foul on the Portugal international, but the referee ignored their pleas.

Jermaine Jenas’s take

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jenas believes that it was a foul.

The Match of the Day pundit has also taken issue with what Pogba said after the match.

The France international midfielder said that it was a 50-50 challenge, but Jenas does not agree with him.

Jenas said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:47pm, August 30, 2021): “Paul Pogba there in the interview that we just witnessed, he said it is a 50-50.

“It’s not. It’s 60-40 in Neves’s favour. It’s a bad touch from Paul Pogba. The ball gets away from him, and he’s reaching and he’s stretching.”
