Celtic are set to clinch the signing of VVV-Venlo striker Giorgos Giakoumakis as he prepares to undergo a medical with the Bhoys.
That’s according to Inside Futbol, who claim that Giakoumakis was waiting for a light to Paris on Saturday night in order to travel and seal his move.
Celtic have struck a deal worth just £2.1million according to The Scottish Sun, and it’s now believed that personal terms have also been agreed with Giakoumakis.
Giakoumakis will undergo his medical in France and then sign his Celtic contract having been tempted into joining Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Giakoumakis allegedly received late interest from teams in Turkey and Saudi Arabia but picked Celtic, with a move to Scotland now imminent.
The 26-year-old centre forward smashed 29 goals in all competitions last season and finished the campaign as the top goalscorer in the Eredivisie.

A physical striker, Giakoumakis hadn’t really enjoyed major success before heading to the Netherlands last year, but Celtic have been convinced.
Postecoglou was born in Greece himself and will no doubt have plenty of knowledge about Giakoumakis, who offers something a little different at Celtic.
If Giakoumakis can reach the cult status of compatriot Georgios Samaras, the move will have been a success.
