Some Arsenal fans are buzzing over an update regarding Thomas Partey.
The Gunners have revealed via their official website that the Ghanaian powerhouse is due to return to training at London Colney next week.
Arsenal have sorely missed the former Atletico Madrid midfielder in their first two Premier League – a couple of 2-0 defeats by Brentford and Chelsea respectively.
But his likely return to first-team action after the international break should, in theory, lead to Mikel Arteta’s side winning more games.
On his day, Partey is a massive player for the North Londoners.
And here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted to the injury update:
Point to prove
Partey has a point to prove this season – a big point.
Despite costing £45 million, he didn’t often look like a £45 million player for Arsenal last term.
As mentioned, he did on some occasions, but other times he struggled in a big way.
It’s worth pointing out that the 28-year-old suffered a number of injuries, which made it difficult to establish any real momentum under Mikel Arteta.
But by the same token, he was fit for virtually the whole second half of the campaign and even then he didn’t stand out all that much.
There’s a reason why Arsenal spent so much money on him and hopefully for the Emirates Stadium club, he can start showing that from September onwards.
