Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will continue to monitor West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen’s progress, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The Athletic reported Liverpool’s interest in West Ham player Bowen last month.
With just days left in the summer transfer window, it now appears unlikely that a transfer will happen.
After all, the Hammers are going to struggle to find a suitable replacement if the 24-year-old, who can operate as a winger, midfielder or forward, leaves now.
Moreover, West Ham are not under any financial pressure to sell any of their players.
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Liverpool will continue to monitor the progress of the former Hull City man.
Future Liverpool transfer?
Bowen is a very talented attacking player who is still only 24, which means that he can improve and develop further.
It would make sense for Liverpool to continue to monitor the Englishman and see how he develops in the coming weeks and months.
West Ham will challenge for the Premier League top four and will also play in the Europa League this season.
This means that the Hammers are unlikely to sell Bowen in the January transfer window.
Liverpool may have to wait until next summer to sign the West Ham player, who scored eight goals and gave five assists in 30 Premier League starts last season.
