Ian Wright has said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show that he does not think that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will include Kai Havertz in the starting lineup against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this weekend.
What’s the story?
Chelsea have won their opening two Premier League games this season, and so have Liverpool.
On Saturday evening, Tuchel’s side will take on Klopp’s team away from home at Anfield in the Hague.
What does Ian Wright think?
Arsenal legend Wright believes that Chelsea will change the way they played against the Gunners.
The Blues eased past the Gunners last weekend, but Liverpool are a much better opposition.
The BBC Sport pundit believes that Chelsea attacking midfielder Havertz will not start against Liverpool.
The 22-year-old Germany international attacking midfielder was deployed alongside Mason Mount behind striker Romelu Lukaku.
Wright said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show: “They can’t play Havertz. They are not going to play like they played against Arsenal away from home because they could take liberties with Arsenal, because Arsenal’s lack of organisation, they won’t do this against Liverpool.”
No Kai Havertz against Liverpool?
Chelsea will know how good Liverpool are good tactically and defensively.
The 2021 Champions League winners are unlikely to be very attacking in their approach, especially when the Reds will have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in their lineup.
Tuchel is likely to be slightly more conservative against Liverpool than he was against Arsenal, and Havertz – who cost Chelsea £71 million last summer, according to BBC Sport – could be left out of the starting lineup.
