Shamrock Rovers defender Liam Scales is set to undergo a medical with Celtic on Friday as he prepares to play his final game for the Irish club.
That’s according to the Irish Examiner, who claim that Scales will go through the final stages of his move tomorrow.
It’s stated that Scales will still play for Shamrock Rovers tonight as they take on FC Flora for a place in the Europa Conference League.
A fee of €600,000 (£500,000) has been agreed, as have personal terms with the medical the only thing standing in Celtic’s way.
The Bhoys will therefore be waiting for positive news tonight, as they need Scales to avoid any sort of injury blow for Shamrock Rovers.
Celtic are claimed to have been leading the race for months, and have now all but wrapped up the deal.
Scales, 23, once had a trial at Manchester City having shown potential in Ireland, and he has impressed with Shamrock Rovers.
Primarily a left sided centre back or even left back, Scales stands at 6ft 4in tall and has a strong attacking record with four goals and five assists in his last 29 outings for Shamrock Rovers.
Scales is understood to have rejected a move to Southampton in favour of Celtic, and the move should be wrapped up well before deadline day.
