American actor Michael Nader, best known for his roles on Dynasty and All My Children, is no more. The news regarding his demise was announced by his wife, Jodi Lister. 

The renowned actor is said to have died at the age of 76 following a battle with cancer. He breathed his last on Monday, August 23. 

Fans have taken to Twitter to pay their respects to the iconic actor on hearing about his passing. Many of them are sending prayers to the family he has left behind.

Who is Michael Nader’s wife?

Michael was married to Jodi until his death. 

The actor’s manager, Richard Schwartz, confirmed to USA TODAY that he passed away in his home in North Carolina with Jodi and their rescue dog, Storm, by his side.

The devastated wife said of her late husband: “With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael. He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever.”

The couple did not have any children and spent their life together fostering dogs. “We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted,” Jodi added further. 

The couple got married in September 2014. Michael was previously married to Robin Weiss, with whom he shares a daughter called Lindsay Michelle Nader.

A look at late star’s acting career

Even though Michael has appeared in a large number of television shows and films, he was best known for playing the role of Dex Dexter on ABC’s Dynasty and Dimitry Marick on All My Children. 

He began his career in 1963 with small roles in films such as Mike Nader and went on to land a recurring role on TV series Gidget. He was also on As the World Turns from 1975 to 1978, essaying the role of Kevin Thompson. 

However, Farnsworth Dexter became the defining role of his career and the actor was a part of Dynasty until its cancellation in 1989. Michael’s other major role as Dimitri on All My Children marked his return to soap opera. He appeared on the show from 1991 to 1999 and from 2000 to 2001. 

His other acting credits include The Flash, Law And Order: SUV, and Cold Case.

Many of Michael’s fans are seen mourning his loss on social media. 

One tweeted, “RIP Michael Nader a gentleman and a talent. He played Dex on #Dynasty I was Jennifer, a hardhat on his oilfield. Goodbye, my friend.”

Actor Jack Coleman wrote, “So sad to hear about Michael Nader. He was a funny, sweet, man and a good actor. We had several years of laughter and hijinks. He will be sorely missed.2210”

“RIP Michael Nader. (Dex Dexter). An 80’s icon,” wrote another on Twitter.
