Former Dancing with the Stars fame and sports reporter Erin Andrews has opened up about undergoing IVF treatment while detailing the struggles she has been through over the years. She is married to Jarret Stoll since 2017 and her husband has been her pillar of support.
In a powerful essay, she shared how years of embarrassment associated with the IVF process can take a toll on a woman’s mental and physical health. She sheds some light on her own experience with it as well.
Who is Jarrett Stoll?
Erin’s husband Jarret Stoll is a former NHL player. Originally from Canada, he played for Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Wild.
Jarret began his hockey career in the small town of Neudorf and later moved to Saskatchewan, where he played for Saskatoon Blazers. During his junior career, he represented Canada twice at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2001 and 2002. He became the captain of Team Canada in 2002.
He is the recipient of several awards including the Stanley Cup, which he received in 2012 and 2014. He has also won East First Team All-Star and West First All-Star Team awards.
As for his personal life, Jarret and Erin started dating in 2012 and got married in June 2017.
Their love story is a rather interesting one!
It all began with Jarret sent a text to TV host and NFL alum Michael Strahan during the 2012 World Series asking about Erin.
The former NHL player reportedly asked his friend if he could set him up with Erin. Strahan later texted Erin saying, “My friend Jarret Stoll wants to take you to dinner.”
However, Erin wasn’t interested at first and wanted to instead focus on her work. She finally agreed to go out with Jarret when he approached her in person by tricking security to be able to meet her while she was in the middle of reporting.
Jarret’s efforts paid off as Erin ended up falling for him and the rest is history!
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, which was held at the Yellowstone Club, a private residential community in the Rocky Mountains, in Big Sky, Montana.
Erin Andrews is undergoing IVF for the 7th time
The 43-year-old revealed in her latest post that she is undergoing IVF for the seventh time. She wrote, “This is my 7th one, and I’ve been going through these treatments since I was 35 years old.”
Meanwhile, talking about the stigma associated with the medical procedure, Erin said: “I work in an industry where I think women feel the need to keep things like this quiet. But no, there are so many other women who maybe put their careers on the back burner because they don’t want to miss out on any opportunities.”
Erin has expressed how women should love themselves more instead of feeling “ashamed” about seeking help for fertility issues.
“There are so many of us going through this though, and it’s just not talked about,” she wrote towards the end of her post.
