West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals has been selected by Spain for the upcoming international break.
La Roja confirmed on their official Twitter account that the Hammers playmaker had made the squad that will face Sweden, Georgia and Kosovo in FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Fornals has been rejuvenated under David Moyes, and the 25-year-old has been awarded for his fine form with a return to the Spain squad. The midfielder’s last appearance for his country came in 2018 whilst at Villarreal.
West Ham have started the season with a 100% record in the Premier League. The Hammers are also the highest-scoring team in the division with eight goals in two games.
And Fornals has been key to this impressive start to the season. The winger assisted in West Ham’s 4-2 win over Newcastle United before getting on the scoresheet against Leicester City in a 4-1 victory over the Foxes.
Indeed, the form of Fornals in recent weeks has been key to the playmaker returning to the Spain squad for the first time in three years. Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Andriy Yarmolenko have also been called up for international duty.
However, on social media, it was Fornals returning to Spain that had West Ham fans buzzing. The midfielder has been exceptional in recent weeks, and supporters are happy to see his form being recognised.
