Every day, more injuries are arising thanks to TikTok’s viral Crate Challenge.
The trend sees people stacking up towers of up to eight milk crates and attempting to walk over them like a staircase.
Milk crates are plastic interlocking boxes that are usually used to transport milk from dairies to retailers.
They are made of polythene, a thin plastic that cannot hold much weight, making the challenge extremely dangerous.
This week, a woman from Dallas has hit the news after she attempted the Crate Challenge and was severely injured.

Know the dangers of the Crate Challenge
Before you attempt the viral Crate Challenge, it’s important to be aware of the dangers.
Whilst the plastic milk crates might seem pretty sturdy, they can’t hold someone’s body weight, which is a serious issue when trying to walk on them.
The flimsy material combined with the wobbly towers lead most people to fall from a huge height, which can result in serious injury.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr Shawn Anthony told The Today Show: The Milk Crate Challenge is very dangerous, and we are seeing many orthopedic injuries as a result of the falls.”
“Injuries can include broken wrists, shoulder dislocations, ACL and meniscus tears, as well as life-threatening conditions like spinal cord injuries,” he continued.
If you are going to take part in the challenge, make sure you don’t stack the crates very high, and do it on grass rather than concrete.
