On Wednesday, Sony Pictures released the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ trailer after it was leaked online a day before its intended release.

Spider-Man leaves Avengers in the dust

Proving that Spider-Man is definitely the fan favourite when it comes to Marvel movies, the first trailer for ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ smashed Avengers by racking up an all-time viewership record of 355.5 million global views in the first 24 hours of its release, blowing away the previous record of 289 million views.

Interestingly, the ‘No Way Home’ trailer was viewed more than twice of what the trailer for 2019’s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ was which hit 135m views at the 24-hour mark.

The teaser trailer which dropped at CinemaCon and on social media on Tuesday also generated a whopping 4.5 million conversations across social media channels.

Tom Holland responds to record-breaking trailer

Responding to the news, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland promised on Instagram: “It only gets crazier”.

He was also overwhelmed with the reaction from fans saying:

“I’m at the airport, I’ve been flying for the last 10 hours, so I actually didn’t post the trailer, my brother Harry did. So, I haven’t been able to see the reactions and how excited everyone is.”

“And I just landed, and I turned my phone on and my phone has gone mental.”

“The love and support you guys have shown to the film is so exciting and that is just the tip of the iceberg, you’ve no idea on what’s to come.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be swinging into cinemas on 17th December!
