Aston Villa supporters have reacted on Twitter to Harry Kane confirming he will stay at Tottenham after interest from Manchester City.

This summer, Pep Guardiola tried to go down the road of bringing Jack Grealish and Kane to the Etihad.

Whilst Man City managed to lure Villa’s boyhood fans to the club, they haven’t been able to sign Tottenham’s very own boyhood man.

Kane confirmed on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon that he will be staying put in North London this summer.

Villa supporters have provided a mixed reaction to the news and how Grealish won’t be able to play alongside the England captain on the domestic level.

Some do have to question whether Man City have splashed most of their cash on Grealish, when in fact, it was Kane who was their priority.

Guardiola has Gabriel Jesus as his out-and-out number nine, but it’s Ferran Torres who has played that role during these opening games.

It would have been some sort of cheat code to have arguably two of the best playmakers in the country – Grealish and Kevin de Bruyne – feeding one of the best strikers in the land, week in and week out.

And whilst Grealish is able to do that on the international stage, De Bruyne might never get that chance in his career.

Given that Man City were so quick to put the £100 million on the table for Grealish, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they go back in for Kane next summer, regardless of his age.

But once again, they will have Daniel Levy to deal with and whilst Grealish had a clause in his contract, that wasn’t the case for his fellow Englishman.
