Blow for Leeds and Everton

This latest development on the future of Cunha will come as a blow for Leeds and Everton.

Sky Germany and Calciomercato reported in May interest from Leeds in the Brazilian striker.

Then UOL in Brazil claimed in June that Leeds had stepped up talks to sign the 22-year-old.

Sky Germany. reported this week that Everton made a late bid for the youngster, but they failed in their quest to bring him to Goodison Park.

Both Leeds and Everton are massive clubs, but Atletico won the La Liga title last season and regularly play in the Champions League.

The Madrid club’s appeal is obvious.

Cunha scored seven goals and gave four assists in 25 Bundesliga starts last season.
