The official trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has released and the clip is bursting with spoilers, such as the possible return of other Marvel characters, including Matt Murdock a.k.a Daredevil.

One of the good things about Marvel is that when they have something up their sleeve, they will always reveal several clips to keep their fans hyped.

Even though Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is coming in September, the franchise has begun teasing probably the biggest movie of this year, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Marvel are definitely not holding back this time as the three minute video hints at the appearance of characters from the universe including Daredevil and villains such as Green Goblin.

So who else has been suspected to pop up in the trailer?

Fans wish for Matt Murdock

The teaser picks up at the world learning that Peter Parker is the friendly neighbourhood hero, but he is labelled as a villain responsible for the death of Mysterio.

Handcuffed to the table as he is being questioned at the police station, Peter insists that the death was the doing of drones and not him.

An unidentified man in a white shirt responds by slamming down a stack of files in front of Peter; this guy definitely means business and it is none other than, or as fans assume, Matt Murdock/Daredevil/Hell’s Kitchen’s Renowned Vigilant.

Just one shot of a silhouette and a pair of hairy arms seems like enough evidence for fans, and as reported by in January 2021, Charlie Cox was seen filming on set. Matt is a New York City lawyer, so it seems fitting for him to be Peter’s representative by day and hero ally by night.

Charlie’s cameo took eight months to be confirmed since he denied involvement in April 2020.

“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”

Other cameos ft. Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin

Green Goblin

Looks like Spider-Man will be up against his archenemy Green Goblin in this movie; the Maguire-era villain is teased through his unforgettable cackle and the use of his jack-‘o’-lantern pumpkins bombs blowing up a line of cars on the highway.

The second member of the Sinister Six fans guess to appear is Jamie Foxx as Electro/Max Dillon.

First appearing in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, No Way Home teases Electro with a lightening bolt appearing, so this time, Jamie has had a yellow makeover, rather than blue.

TheHollywoodReporter first announced Jamie’s involvement in the newest Spider-Man in October 2020 and the actor confirmed it in a now-deleted Instagram post captioned,

“Super excited to part of the new marvel Spider-Man new installment, and i won’t be blue in this one!! but a thousand percent badass!!!”

Another Sinister Six villain confirmed with a big-screen appearance is Thomas Hayden Church’s Sandman/Flint Marko when a figure of sand forms. The trailer has kept it subtle because the shot is less than one second and we can’t see his famous green striped t-shirt.

Doc Ock

It looks like leader Doctor Octopus will have a significant role in the No Way Home since the trailer reveals Alfred Molina when he wickedly greets Peter.

His last appearance was in Tony Maguire’s Spider-Man 2, where uses his robotic arms to collapse the floor of the building, successfully drowning the Fusion Reactor, but ends up following the orange ball of energy into the river.

Obviously we thought he died, but with the multiverse, no one ever truly dies in Marvel anymore.

Variety confirmed his return to Spider-Man in April 2021:

“When we were shooting it, we were all under orders not to talk about it, because it was supposed to be some great big secret. But, you know, it’s all over the internet. I actually described myself as the worst kept secret in Hollywood!”

With so many old faces back again, we’re just waiting for a teaser of Andrew and Tobey.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released exclusively in cinemas on December 17. 2021.
