Everton have made a £5million bid for Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison – but their offer has been immediately rejected.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Everton had made an offer in the hope of securing Jebbison ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

However, the Blades have said no and intend to keep Jebbison at Bramall Lane despite mounting interest in his signature.

The report notes that Aston Villa and Leeds United are also keen to sign Jebbison, with Brentford joining the race too.

Hull City, Sunderland, Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion all want to take Jebbison on loan, but it’s now Premier League cash on the table for the Blades.

Jebbison, 18, made his first Premier League start against Everton back in May and actually scored at Goodison Park in a fairytale story.

Born in Canada but capped by England at Under-18 level, Jebbison stands at a huge 6ft 3in tall and looks to be a real talent for the future.

Signing a young target man from Sheffield United will remind Everton fans of the 2016 swoop for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Blades legend Michael Brown did compare Jebbison to Calvert-Lewin on BT Sport before that meeting between the two sides in May.

Everton are allegedly planning a new bid for Jebbison, so this one isn’t over by any means.
