On Sunday, August 22, Country singer Kenny Chesney took to Twitter to mourn the death of his ‘sweet friend’, Lisa Lee.

Ardent Country music lovers might know that Lisa was a well-known reporter and journalist who worked closely with many musicians.

However, despite her work in the media industry and her close ties with singers, she preferred to stay low-key. Hence, not much is known about her personal life.

Lisa’s cause of death remains unclear at the time of writing.

Who is Lisa Lee?

Lisa served as the Senior Vice President for Creative and Content Production at the Academy of Country Music (ACM). She was in her role since 2007 and completed 14 years in the position this year.

Prior to taking charge of the ACM, she served as the News Correspondent and Producer at CMT and MTV network. Before progressing in her executive career, Lisa was a reporter/producer for Jim Owens & Associates.

Her colleague from Jim Owens, Stephen L. Betts, took to Facebook to remember his late friend.

He revealed that the music journalist helped him come up with a fun interview section for singers when he started working with Country Music Today magazine. She went on to host the interview show entitled, Lunch With Lisa. On the show, as the name suggests, she would interview artists while having a meal with them.
