Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:02pm, August 22, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli played well against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Arsenal legend was impressed by the display produced by Alli in Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Wolves away from home in the Premier League yesterday.
The 25-year-old England international midfielder scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
Wright said about Alli on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:02pm, August 22, 2021): “It’s good to see as well. Dele seemed to be in the wilderness under Mourinho.
“We know what Dele is capable of, and we saw a lot of it in the game today. I thought he was fantastic.”
The former Arsenal star added: “It was a brilliant performance from him.”

Getting back to his best
Alli has not been at his best for around two years now, and it is clear this season is massive for him.
The Englishman struggled for playing time under Jose Mourinho last season, but he is getting chances under new head coach Nuno.
Alli played well against Wolves yesterday.

The former MK Dons star worked hard, scored a penalty which he himself earned, and was also willing to do the defensive work in midfield.
Alli had a pass accuracy of 81.3%, won one header, took 62 touches, attempted one dribble, and made two tackles and one dribble.
The Tottenham midfielder will now hope to be more consistent in his displays than he has been over the past two season and make himself indispensable for Nuno.
