Tottenham Hotspur have a six-year contract in place with Metz starlet Pape Matar Sarr – but they still haven’t agreed a deal with Metz.
That’s according to Get French Football News, who claim that Sarr has agreed terms on a huge deal until 2027 with Tottenham.
However, it’s added that Tottenham haven’t actually agreed a fee with Metz for the deal to be completed.
Tottenham are currently agreeing to pay €10million plus €5million in bonuses, taking the deal up to around £13million.
That’s short of what Metz want, as they’re seeking a deal worth €20million, bringing both the up-front fee and the bonuses to a total price of £17million.
It’s not a huge gap to be bridged, but it’s clear that there is still work to be done as Fabio Paratici seeks an exciting deal.

Sarr, 18, is already a regular in France with Metz, bagging three goals in 22 Ligue 1 games last season, playing as a versatile midfield player.
Even though Sarr is a midfielder, Senegal boss Aliou Cisse has claimed that Sarr is ‘like Sadio Mane’ because of his versatility and ability to play in different formations.
Tottenham may have agreed to let Sarr return to Metz on loan for the season, but it’s hard not to get excited about his future in North London – if the issues in negotiations can be ironed out.
