Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has admitted he is unaware of a reported £5million for Nathan Patterson – but confessed he is willing to talk about any “respectable” offers for the teen.

According to the Mirror, Everton want the Scotland international to challenge Seamus Coleman at right-back as Rafa Benitez looks to bolster his squad.

After being quizzed by Sky Sports on the reported offer, Gerrard was none the wiser and insisted the only people he pays attention to regarding transfers is sporting director Ross Wilson and the Ibrox board.

“Not to my knowledge,” the Rangers boss said.

“I’m sure the right person will tell me if that’s the case and if there’s truth in it.

“I hear a lot of noise and a lot of rumours. A lot of talk about a lot of our players.

“The only people I listen to in this situation is Ross Wilson and the board.

“If any bids land and they’re respectable then we’ll discuss them.”

Patterson was an unused sub as Rangers eased past Ross County 4-2 this afternoon and looks set to keep his place in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad when it is announced on Tuesday.

Rangers will be looking for far more than £5million to allow the 19-year-old to move on, with one Gers fan saying it would be ‘carnage‘ if he went for less than £20million.
