Nottingham Forest have confirmed the loan signing of James Garner, who has also signed a new contract with Manchester United.
The Championship side announced on their official Twitter account that the England youth international has re-joined the club for a second season. Garner was part of the Forest squad last campaign.
The midfielder impressed hugely under Chris Hughton, with Garner youngster making 20 appearances for Forest and scoring four goals.
With the Nottingham side getting off to an awful start in the 2021/22 season, the return of Garner to Forest will be a much-needed boost to the club as the closure of the transfer window draws near.
And Garner returning is a huge coup for the club. Reports suggested that other Championship sides, as well as European teams, were interested in the 20-year-old midfielder.
Indeed, Forest currently have zero points in the standings after losing their four opening games of the Championship season. Hughton’s side most recently lost to Stoke City 1-0.
Forest’s form in the second-tier might be the worst in the opening four games. However, fans on social media are buzzing that Garner has returned on loan for the season.

Here’s what some Forest fans had to say about Garner signing for the club again on a season-long loan deal on Twitter…
