What a response from Manchester City.

The Premier League champions were humbled in their season opener against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, losing 1-0.

But back on their own patch this afternoon, Pep Guardiola’s side thumped newly-promoted Norwich City 5-0.

Here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to the win on Twitter:

Among the goals was Jack Grealish, who scored his first since a £100 million move to the Etihad Stadium earlier this month.

And here’s Linker’s reaction to that goal:

It was by no means the prettiest goal that the former Aston Villa star will ever score for the Eastlands club, with the ball rebounding off his thigh and trickling over the line.

One fan on Twitter questioned the aesthetic quality of the goal – and Lineker was quick to put him in his place:

Grealish’s goal gave Guardiola’s side a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

After it, further goals from Aymeric Laporte, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez made it a rout for the Canaries, who were thumped 3-0 by Liverpool as well last week.
