The Night House: Release date and plot

After having its premiere in January 2020, The Night House was originally scheduled to arrive in July 2021 before its release date was pushed back to August.

Specifically August 20th in the US and here in the UK while dates differ depending on the country in question.

Directed by David Bruckner, The Night House tells the story of Beth who is reeling from the unexpected death of her husband and is left alone in the couple’s lakeside house.

However, it’s not long before the nightmares come for Beth as she’s greeted by disturbing visions and the alluring call of a ghostly presence.

Searching for answers, Beth begins to dig through her husband’s belongings but what she finds only adds extra layers to the unfurling mystery.

Where to watch The Night House

  • The Night House will be available exclusively in theaters when it releases on August 20th.

That’s right, film fans will have to venture out to watch The Night House on the big screen as the horror movie is exclusive to cinemas.

Fans in the US can check out which venues will be screening The Night House here.

As the film is exclusive to theaters, The Night House will not be available on any of the major streaming services when it initially releases.

However, there’s nothing to stop the film from coming to a streaming service later down the line and, as Searchlight Pictures is Disney-owned, the most likely locations for its streaming release are either Hulu or Star on Disney+.
