Michael Brown believes that Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane may be joining Manchester City imminently.

This is undoubtedly the transfer saga of the summer in regards to English football.

City have reportedly offered £125 million but it has been said that Tottenham would be looking for at least £150 million.

Kane has incurred the wrath of Spurs fans in recent weeks after failing to report for pre-season training upon his return to England, following his extended summer break.

It looked as if the 28-year-old was trying to force a move to Pep Guardiola’s side, but Brown has told Sky Sports that he believes the player will ultimately wind up at Eastlands after Nuno Espirito Santo decided not to bring him to Portugal for the Europa Conference League opener with Pacos de Ferreira last night.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s not travelled again. Is there a deal on the table? For him not to go and play tonight or have any part of it, that tells me I think there’s a deal imminent. Obviously everybody needs to resolve this. It’s been a long drama now, this.”

Is he gone?

Brown might be right.

After all, using him last night would’ve been a massive gamble because injury would’ve spoiled his big-money move to the Etihad Stadium.

That being said, it’s also plausible that he simply wasn’t fit, having only started back in full training for about a week after isolating upon his return from holidays.

This one looks like going right down to the wire and with Daniel Levy being Daniel Levy, staying in N17 simply cannot be ruled out either.
