Ray Parlour has tipped Sean Dyche to take over from Mikel Arteta if the under-pressure Arsenal manager was to leave his post.
What’s the story?
Appearing on talkSPORT, the former Gunners ace claimed most people wanted to see the Burnley manager get a top-six job.
Dyche has been with the Lancashire outfit since October 2012.
He managed to keep the club in the Premier League last season despite spending just £990,000 on transfers.
And it seems he has impressed Parlour, who wouldn’t be against the idea of appointing the 50-year-old to the Arsenal hot seat.
Parlour said: “I think most people would love to see him get a chance at a bigger job, see how he can do with a top-six club. I’m surprised some clubs haven’t gone down that road and said: ‘Let’s give Sean Dyche a go.’
“What he’s done at Burnley is unbelievable. If Arsenal are telling me Sean Dyche is the next manager, then good, I’ll get behind him, see how we do.”

Our View: Dyche would be a left-field option for Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has come under increased pressure after the loss to Brentford last Friday. And you would expect the club to have a list of potential replacements in case they sack the Spaniard.
Sean Dyche would be a left-field option regardless of praise from Parlour.
It’s hard to see the Kettering-born man being the number one option among fans.
Arsenal have established a passing style of play Dyche has failed – or been unable – to display at Burnley.
That’s not to discredit the Englishman, who has done a fine job at Turf Moor. His work under a limited budget makes him one of the best managers in the division.
For that reason alone, he deserves to be on any Arsenal shortlist.
