Martin Odegaard is fully vaccinated and will not have to quarantine upon his arrival to Arsenal and the UK, according to Sky Sports.

What’s the story?

The attacking midfielder is closing in on a move to north London for £30m from Real Madrid, according to David Ornstein.

Odegaard was absent from team training with the Spanish giants on Tuesday.

Odegaard could complete his move to Arsenal in time to face London rivals Chelsea.

Rules set by the UK government regarding double-jabbed people changed earlier in the week.

People who are fully vaccinated no longer have to self-isolate if they come into contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19.

Odegaard could set trend at Arsenal

The pandemic has affected countless lives and is still continuing to do so.

Just last week, players were advised by deputy chief medical officer Professor Jonathan Van Tam to get the vaccine.

Given the large following players attract, they prove the biggest drive in the fight to beat the disease.

If a person’s favourite player gets the jab, you can guarantee people will follow their example.

After such a massive death toll, there is a responsibility on players to set an example moving forward.

And with Odegaard having both doses, it is a massive boost both for the club and for driving the vaccine forward.
