Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Sepp van den Berg playing for Preston against Huddersfield.
What’s the story?
Well, the Dutchman – who cost Liverpool £1.3m – spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Preston, making 16 Championship appearances.
The Lilywhites were so impressed that they decided to bring Van den Berg back to Deepdale, where he’s already made three Championship outings.
After watching the footage of him, Liverpool fans couldn’t help but notice how much quicker the 19-year-old looks.
In his four appearances for Liverpool, the teenager look leggy – he hadn’t appeared to have grown into his lanky frame, in truth.
Now, however, Van den Berg looks to have filled out, and has seemingly gained plenty of pace as a result.
What should Liverpool do with Sepp van den Berg?

Signed at 17, the centre-back is clearly one for the future.
However, what should Liverpool do with him in the meantime? There’s plenty of competition at Anfield, and it doesn’t look to be going anywhere soon.
Joe Gomez is 24, while Ibrahima Konate is 22, so Jürgen Klopp has a long-term pairing in those two alone.

That’s without mentioning Virgil van Dijk and Joël Matip, who still have plenty of years remaining at this level as well.
Van den Berg definitely seems like a bright prospect, but he might find himself out on loan a lot more over the next few years.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about him…
