Harry Kane expects his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City to go through before the weekend, according to The Sun.

What’s the story?

The saga over a move to the Etihad Stadium has been rumbling on all summer.

Kane is reportedly eager to join the Citizens, who in turn have made the centre-forward their number one target.

City have made a second offer of around £125m for the £200k-per-week England international, after failing with their first bid of £100m.

Despite Daniel Levy’s attempts to play hardball, club sources are resigned to losing the talisman.

Kane will play no part in Spurs’ Europa Conference League clash tomorrow after not flying to Portugal.

Kane transfer could help Tottenham

Letting Kane complete a transfer before this weekend could actually help Tottenham.

The saga has been going on for much of the transfer window, since the 28-year-old revealed his intention to leave the club.

It has proved to be nothing but a distraction and has taken the attention away from last weekend’s heroics.

The win over Pep Guardiola’s men was a sensational start to the season. But you feel that is of secondary importance given all the speculation about Kane.

Nuno Espirito Santo has shown he can live without the talismanic figure.

Tottenham can build on their great performance, but only without distractions.

Kane proves a massive one and letting him leave would finally end the speculation once and for all.
