Newcastle United are willing to listen to offers for Everton target Sean Longstaff as Steve Bruce seeks to raise funds.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Bruce needs to offload players before he can bring in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury.
Ciaran Clark, Fabian Schar and Jeff Hendrick are also thought to be available alongside Longstaff with the transfer deadline closing in.
This isn’t how many expected things to go for Longstaff.
He was a shining light for the Magpies in the 2018-19 season, with Pep Guardiola even picking him out for praise, stating that his Manchester City side couldn’t contain him.
Manchester United offered £35million, but Newcastle stood firm, believing that Longstaff would have a long and fruitful career at St James’ Park.

Since Rafael Benitez left in the summer of 2019, Longstaff hasn’t been able to find his best form and now appears to be available.
The Times claim that Benitez wants to take Longstaff to Everton, seemingly feeling that he can get the 23-year-old back on track.
Benitez compared Longstaff to Michael Carrick at Newcastle, so his interest is no shock – and a deal could be done before the deadline.
