Arsenal’s move to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has taken another step towards completion this evening.
The Gunners have been chasing a new goalkeeper all summer, but they have ultimately put themselves firmly in need of a stopper.
Runar Runarrsson just isn’t good enough and the decision to sell Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa looks worse and worse as time goes on.
Arsenal have been pursuing a homegrown goalkeeper all summer, and it looks like a deal for Aaron Ramsdale is now close.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has taken to Twitter tonight in order to tweet that Ramsdale’s move to Arsenal is almost done.
Ornstein claims an agreement is close, with Arsenal paying £24million plus £6million in add-ons, which should kick in when Ramsdale is first-choice at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsdale has subsequently been left out of the Blades squad to face West Bromwich Albion this evening, with his Gunners move seemingly imminent now.
Ramsdale has suffered successive relegations with Bournemouth and Sheffield United, but now looks to be Arsenal’s goalkeeper of the future.
