Fans around the world are reacting to the news that Part 9 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will be produced and that it already has a provisional title!

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is part of a select group of ‘mega-franchises’ within the anime and manga community.

Its fanbase spans three decades and probably every continent on the planet, culminating in the franchise becoming an icon of the industry.

The series’ author Hirohiko Araki has just turned 61-years-old, but the legendary writer and illustrator is showing no signs of slowing down; with new comments creating a maelstrom of excitement online.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9…

  • According to reports online, author Hirohiko Araki has confirmed that part 9 of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series would be produced, provisionally titled ‘JOJO LANDS’.

Today, August 17th, The Unofficial Shonen Jump News page on Twitter shared a post about Araki’s comments in the latest Ultra Jump issue. According to the post, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 8 has officially ended, but a ninth part is set to be produced.

The original post said that part 9 has a provisional label of ‘JOJO LANDS’, although the official title may be altered upon its domestic release in Japan.

Unfortunately, a release window was not announced, but will launch “after a short break between Part 8 and 9.”

Similarly, neither a main protagonist, supporting characters or setting has been confirmed.

How to catch up on the manga before Part 9…

Thankfully, reading the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga and getting into manga in general has never been easier.

Physical copies of the manga can be purchased from most comic book shops and various online retailers for under $15, including Amazon and Waterstones.

You can also read the manga digitally via Viz Media. Only the first few chapters are available for free, before you require a Member Subscription to read the rest – costing $1.99 a month.

The next anime season…

The news on Part 9 of the manga follows last week’s announcement about the Stone Ocean anime adaptation, which will be the sixth season.

Stone Ocean will tell the story of Jolyne Cujoh, the daughter of Jotaro Kugo and great-granddaughter of Joseph Jostar, who is jailed after being framed for manslaughter.

Netflix will launch the new season worldwide in December 2021, but a specific date has not been confirmed.

Stone Ocean will then air on Japanese television networks from January 2022, you can find out more information here.

Fans react to the announcement…

It’s safe to say that fans are certainly excited about the news of a ninth part in the JoJo manga saga.

However, it appears that most of the excitement is concerning the timing of the news.

Only last week, there were reports that Part 9 would not be announced for at least another month – with some fans calling into question if we would even get any news then.

As many fans are also pointing out, this means that the end of 2021 is owned by the JoJo series, with multiple announcements and new titles on the horizon!
