The Express have reported that Japhet Tanganga’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester City at the weekend has pushed Serge Aurier further towards the exit door.
What’s the story?
Galatasaray reportedly wanted to sign Tanganga on loan from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
However, the 22-year-old defender’s performance at right-back against City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend has cemented his place in head coach Nuno’s squad.
The youngster got the better of City and England star Raheem Sterling.
The report has added that Tanganga’s performance has pushed Aurier ‘closer to the exit door’.
The Ivory Coast international has reportedly been left out of the Tottenham squad to face Pacos de Ferreira in the Conference League qualifier this week.

What next for Tanganga and Aurier?
Anything is possible when the transfer window is open.
You just never know.
However, given the performance of Tanganga against Premier League champions City, it is hard to see Spurs send him out on loan now.
Spurs fans, Gary Neville and Glenn Hoddle all were raving about the 22-year-old after the game.

Matt Doherty joined Spurs only last summer and worked with Nuno at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Doherty, who can also play as a right wing-back, is unlikely to be sold.
You could make a case for Aurier being sold this summer.
Of course, squad depth is important, but with Tanganga and Doherty as the two right-backs, Aurier could even fail to make matchday squads.
The 28-year-old reportedly being left out of the Tottenham squad for the Conference League suggests that his days at the North London club are numbered.
