Some Arsenal fans on social media are far from happy after Football London reported that they’re unlikely to sign another central midfielder this summer after Granit Xhaka’s contract extension.
It had been reported that Arsenal wanted a midfielder through the door this summer, with the likes of Yves Bissouma and Renato Sanches linked, but now it seems as though they’ll stick with what they’ve already got.
Albert Sambi Lokonga has already come in, so there have been some reinforcements, but the reality is that with Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock no longer at the club, the Gunners are lighter than they once were.
As you can imagine, Gunners fans aren’t best pleased to hear this rumour, especially after their underwhelming start to the season against Brentford where their midfield proved to be below standard.
Much like any fanbase, Arsenal supporters are hungry for as many signings as possible, and while there may be a few more coming in, it seems as though a central midfielder may not be one of them.
