On Monday, August 16, U.S. Soccer player Carli Lloyd announced her retirement from the Women’s national team. After the news broke many fans became curious to learn about the star’s net worth.

Carli’s retirement will put an end to a storied career that made her the second-most-capped player in world soccer history. She has 128 international goals and two Olympic gold medals. Thanks to Carli’s performances, the Team USA even won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The announcement reveals that she will retire from international soccer after the USWNT’s fall friendlies. These games are yet to be announced, but a report on the official website states that the four friendlies are scheduled to take place in September and October.

US Soccer player announces retirement

Carli’s retirement was posted on the U.S. Soccer team’s website. Revealing her decision, Carli said: “When I first started out with the national team in 2005, my two main goals were to be the most complete soccer player I could be and to help the team win championships.”

“Every single day I stepped out onto the field, I played as if it was my last game. I never wanted to take anything for granted, especially knowing how hard it is to get to the top, but even harder to stay at the top for so long.”

The Olympian had hinted at her retirement plans earlier. In an interview with Today back in June, she revealed her plans of starting a family with her husband.
