‘Valeria’ is a popular Spanish series that follows a writer who has hit not only a writer’s block but a life block.

Her personal and professional life seems to be falling apart and she relies on her three best friends to pull her out of the rut. Together they go through a variety of adventures, which in turn make for some hilariously good television.

Developed by María López Castaño, the comedy-drama is based on the book series of the same name by Elísabet Benavent.

The show originally premiered on May 8, 2020, and the second season landed on August 13, 2021, on Netflix. This series consisted of eight episodes that run for 40-45 minutes each.

The ending of series 2 undoubtedly left fans wanting more so here’s all we know about season 3 including story leads which were hinted at in the season 2 finale.

Valeria season 3

Netflix is yet to confirm a season 3 but fans have high hopes as there are four books in the series and the show is not a direct adaptation of the books.

In fact, the series diverges from the books quite a bit taking on different storylines giving their lots of possibility for further plotlines to be explored.

The second season was reportedly announced in June 2020, almost a month after the release of the first cycle. Therefore, if Netflix orders another round by Autumn 2021, the fans could expect ‘Valeria’ season 3 to release sometime in 2022.

How the season 2 finale sets up more

If season 3 was to happen then fans would discover whether Adrián aka Ibrahim Al Shami will continue to be part of Valeria’s life. The final episode of season 2 suggested that there could be a new character who could play a big role in Valeria’s life, it is writer Bruno Aguilar. This means new cast members could get added to the show if it was to be renewed.

In the final season, Valeria signs the divorce papers, and Adrián says farewell. Valeria’s situation with Víctor is left rocky as he wants to be in her life. Lola prepares for her trip to Vienna as Carmen and Borja edge closer to their wedding. Nerea gets a job at Valeria’s publishers, who prepare to gain their newest author, Bruno Aguilar.

The season 2 finale hints that Bruno might become an important part of Valeria’s life or even a love interest. It is unclear whether the potential season 3 will follow Lola in Vienna or not but there are lots of possibilities for different character storylines to take on.

Fingers crossed the show returns for another season, as some unanswered loose ends must be addressed!
