Jordan Henderson has allegedly agreed terms over a new three-year contract with Liverpool.
What’s the story?
According to The Athletic, talks with the 31-year-old advanced significantly once he returned from holiday.
It emerged in July that talks between the two parties were not progressing, with worries over his future. As a result, mass speculation emerged claiming the defensive midfielder could leave the club.
Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain and Atletico Madrid were touted as potential destinations.
But it seems the club captain is set to extend his stay at Anfield. It comes just a few months after Gini Wijnaldum, also over 30, was allowed to leave after failing to agree on terms.
He could be set to follow Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah in agreeing on a new deal.

Extending Henderson contract is massive for Liverpool
Having Henderson extend his Liverpool contract is great news for the Reds.
It wouldn’t be a stretch to claim the England international is probably one of the most important players at the club.
Van Dijk was undoubtedly a massive miss last season as the team struggled to secure a top-four finish.
However, it was the lack of stability in the centre of midfield that also caused mass problems.
Garth Crooks claimed the 31-year-old was a key miss after the side’s loss to Burnley last season.
Stability is what the former Sunderland man has offered since his move from the Stadium of Light. And it is one of the reasons he is one of Jurgen Klopp’s most trusted lieutenants.
