The NBA Experience at Disney Springs, Walt Disney World will not reopen and has closed down permanently, reporter Scott Gustin announced

The experience included thirteen games and activities, and the description of the attraction, as stated on the Disney Springs website, reads:

“This impressive venue merges the magic of Disney with the thrills of the NBA. Once you step through the Player Entry Tunnel, you’ll hear the welcoming roar of an excited crowd—and embark on a full player journey, from training drills to competitions to championships and beyond.”

Why is the NBA Experience closed?

Reporter Scott Gustin shared the news via Twitter that the NBA Experience at Disney Springs will not reopen, and is permanently closed. He stated:

“Disney says this will not impact their other partnerships with the NBA or their business relationship with the Orlando Magic.”

While the reasoning behind the decision to close the attraction has not been made public, Gustin explained that “after two years and a pandemic, Disney is moving in another direction,” and that the decision was made mutually between Disney and the NBA.

Gustin also confirmed that Disney Springs employees were informed of the closure via email earlier today.

While there is currently no information on what will replace the NBA Experience, Disney are likely to share an update on the future of the location later on.
