Rio Ferdinand has said on Rio Ferdinand Presents Five that he believes that Manchester City will pay the money that Tottenham Hotspur want for Harry Kane.
The former Manchester United defender believes that Premier League champions City will eventually cough up the cash that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants.
The Times reported last week that City are planning to make a bid of £120 million for Kane this week.
The Telegraph reported in July that Levy values the striker at £160m.
Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand Presents Five: “I just think that Man City haven’t met the price that they have been asked.
“I think Spurs have got a number, they have set the number, and I don’t think Man City have reached that yet.
“I think Man City will get to it. I just think Man City are chancing their arm, and they are dealing with the wrong person to try and push boundaries like that because Levy doesn’t mess about.”

How will the Harry Kane transfer saga end?
In an ideal world, Tottenham will surely want to keep Kane.
After all, the England international is one of the best strikers on the planet.
However, every player has his price.
Kane himself is reported to be keen on a move to the Etihad Stadium, and City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly stated his interest in the striker.

There are just over two weeks left in the summer transfer window.
If City are keen on Kane, then the Premier League champions should get a deal done now.
There is no point in waiting, especially as Tottenham will want to sign a new striker to replace Kane.
If City leave it too late, then Spurs will be in no position to sell Kane and bring in a replacement striker.
This week is probably going to be crucial. If City are to get Kane, then they have to complete a deal in the coming days.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal star Paul Merson has said that it is going to be hard for Spurs to replace Kane if they sell him.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (12:55pm, August 14, 2021): “I would go as far as to say impossible, impossible. Top goalscorer, top assist, he is the all-around package.
“He has got everything, he does absolutely everything. That’s why I think Daniel Levy is sitting there thinking, ‘Doesn’t matter all the money in the world, how am I going to replace him?’”
