Glenn Hoddle has said on Stadium Astro that he thinks that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will join Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The Tottenham legend believes that a transfer deal will be completed next week.

The Times have reported that City are planning to make a bid of £120 million for the England international striker.

City manager Pep Guardiola himself has publicly acknowledged his interest in Kane.

Hoddle said about Kane on Stadium Astro: “He is such a good player. Last season we saw the assist that he got as well where he dropped into midfield.

“I think Pep will have him playing that way at times, and there will be other games where I think he will be right on the shoulder playing as a number 9.

“The thing is with Harry – you are getting those two positions. He is like two players in one as well. So, Pep knows that as well, and that’s why I think the deal will be done next week.”

Could a transfer deal happen?

We have to make it clear that it is Hoddle’s opinion that Kane’s transfer to City will be completed in the coming days.

Tottenham have given no such indication, at least not publicly.

Kane did not play for Tottenham in their opening Premier League game of the season against City today.

There are just over two weeks left in the summer transfer window, and the coming days will be crucial.

If City are to sign Kane, then they have to make a bid now.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will have to sign a replacement striker for the 28-year-old.

If City leave it too late, then Spurs will not sell Kane even if they are offered £160 million, as the North London club would be in a race against time to replace him.
