Earlier this week it was reported that Liverpool were favourites to sign Renato Sanches.
Mundo Deportivo claimed that Liverpool was the Portugal international’s ‘most likely’ destination in what could be a £33 million deal.
And interestingly, there could be a lot more speculation to come about this one very soon.
That’s because Sanches has just been left out of the Lille squad.
The 23-year-old was nowhere to be seen after being omitted him from Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing by Nice in Ligue 1.
On the move?
But according to The Echo, Sanches was fit and therefore it seems plausible that his absence last night may be linked to a transfer.
Liverpool fans will be hoping this one is true.
Jurgen Klopp lost Georginio Wijnaldum earlier this summer following a Bosman move to Barcelona and there’s no doubt that he must be replaced.
The German has some ready-made replacements, like Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to name a few, but Sanches – a Ligue 1 winner last season – is arguably a level above both and no doubt the supporters will be desperate to see him arrive on Merseyside in the coming weeks.
