BeHaviour Interactive has uploaded a teaser for Dead by Daylight Chapter 21 and fans are speculating that the DBD new killer will be either Pinhead from Hellraiser or Springtrap from Five Nights At Freddy’s.
The next chapter in the horror juggernaut is reportedly planned for September with the public test build coming out on August 17th. This isn’t official, but – if the leak is accurate – then we could be getting an official announcement very soon.
Although it’s looking less likely that demonic Chuck E. Cheese animatronics are coming, we could soon come face-to-face with a hellish priest that has a fetish for leather.
Dead By Daylight Pinhead leaks
Numerous leaks suggest that the new killer in Dead by Daylight chapter 21 will be Pinhead from Hellraiser.
Multiple teasers have been posted on the game’s Japanese Twitter account, and DBD leaks say they have found the word ‘hell’ by merging audio files and using spectogram. This could be interpreted as a a nod to Hellraiser and its famous priest.
Aside from the nod to the fiery depths, another possible hint is a pin seen in the spiral board. However, this could be seen as stretching for a connection as there’s multiple weapons on display.
A more significant clue is the following hidden letters found in recent tweets from the DBD Twitter accounts: ISARE. All of these letters are in Hellraiser and they can spell Raise.
Is Springtrap the new killer in DBD?
It’s looking unlikely that Springtrap will be the new killer in Dead by Daylight Chapter 21.
There were slight hints that the Five Nights At Freddy’s animatronic would be the newest addition, but the evidence now strongly points to Pinhead instead. The pin was seen as a possible wink to FNAF, as was the letter S when it was revealed.
However, there’s no E in Springtrap, so the most ambitious collaboration of all time doesn’t appear to be happening.
Chapter 21 teaser
BeHaviour Interactive has uploaded a teaser for Chapter 21 and it seems to all-but-confirm that Pinhead is coming to the game.
It’s only 16-seconds long, but it shows a TV playing a fuzzy VHS recording. This VHS recording has 19:87 in the upper corner and it also shows a red flower blossoming.
The community believe that 19:87 is a wink to the year Hellraiser was released in cinemas, so everyone is now treating the BDSM priest’s arrival as pretty much guaranteed.
