Ben Foster has selected Aston Villa duo Emiliano Buendia and Danny Ings in his fantasy football team, as he told his own YouTube channel.
The Watford goalkeeper, who is set to face Villa on Saturday in their opening game of the new Premier League season, labelled Buendia as ‘world-class’.
Foster came up against Buendia last season when he was in Norwich colours, so he will know all about his game.
But even though Foster has picked the attacking Villa duo in his squad, he stated that he is putting them on the bench because they play each other at the weekend.
“The second player that I have (in my team),” said Foster. “Which leaves me in a bit of a quandary because we play them in our first game and it’s Aston Villa.
“But I have gone for Buendia because I think the guy is going to have a belting season. We played against him last season against Norwich, he was world-class. I could see him getting a move to the Premier League. A big-money move as well.
“I think he is going to have a belting season. He is going to be spending the first week on the bench, for me. Unlucky. He is going to have a world-class season. He’ll score goals and assist for fun.
On Ings: “Again, a player that’s going to spend the first week on the bench because we are playing them. Danny Ings for Villa.
“For me, this guy is one of the transfers of the summer, so far. He is worth his weight in gold. He scores goals, he runs like an animal, he won’t give you a seconds breath, a team player and a great player to boot. We will see plenty of goals from him.”

The last time Villa locked horns with Watford was probably around about the last time stadiums were packed out.
It seems a long time ago now, but it was during Villa’s first season back in the Premier League when they survived on the last day, after lockdown and during project restart.
Villa’s 2-1 win against Watford played a crucial part in Dean Smith’s side staying up, with Ezri Konsa/Tyrone Mings’ stoppage-time goal sealing the three points.
‘Deeny, Deeney what’s the score’ rung around Villa Park after the full-time whistle in that game and the boyhood Birmingham fan will be re-uniting with Villa again on Saturday.
