Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Ki-Jana Hoever posted footage of his performance for Wolves against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
What’s the story?
Judging by the footage, the 19-year-old had an excellent game against the Spanish side at Molineux.
Why does this concern Liverpool fans, you might ask?
Well, Liverpool actually sold the teenager to Wolves for £9m before taking Diogo Jota away from the Midlands for £41m.
At the time, it wasn’t spoken about too much, as the main focus was on what Jota would bring to Anfield.
However, some did note at the time that Liverpool had let a real gem slip through their fingers.
Now, it seems more people are acknowledging that fact.
Ki-Jana Hoever decision was poor from Liverpool
As far as the BBC are concerned, the Jota and Hoever deals were separate, so Liverpool didn’t necessarily sacrifice the Dutchman to land the forward.
Sadly, Liverpool didn’t even include a buyback clause in the deal, only an agreement on a 15% sell-on clause.
Now, as Hoever starts to develop and find his feet at Wolves, the Anfield faithful have been moaning about Liverpool’s decision on Twitter.
At this point in time, with little cover behind Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jürgen Klopp presumably regrets the decision.
