Some sources are confident that Tottenham Hotspur will be able to offload Tanguy Ndombele in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

What’s the story?

The Athletic reported yesterday that Ndombele is considering his future at Tottenham after being left out of the pre-season friendly match against Arsenal.

The same news outlet is reporting this morning that ‘there is confidence among some sources’ that Tottenham will find a buyer for the France international midfielder because of his talent.

The 24-year-old cost Spurs £55 million in transfer fee two years ago and earns £200,000 per week as salary.

Mauricio Pochettino was in charge of Spurs when the North London club signed him.

Could Tanguy Ndombele leave Tottenham?

Ndombele is a very talented player who is still only 24, so there is every reason to believe that he will improve and develop further.

However, the midfielder has not had the best of times at Spurs and has not really been very consistent.

The Frenchman has scored five goals in 54 Premier League appearances so far.

Now, if Ndombele is considering his options and his desire to leave Spurs grows in the coming weeks, then the North London club would have to find a solution.

It is hard to see any club pay £55 million this summer for Ndombele.

Perhaps the former Lyon star will be sent out on loan.

Spurs will also have to subsidise the 24-year-old’s weekly salary of £200,000 if he goes out on loan.
