Prepared to be mesmerised as the trailer for the upcoming season of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol entrances us with a psychedelic sequence resembling a time warp filled with colourful collages.

“Piffle Paffle”, the narrator repeats and by the end of the one minute teaser, we’re asking the same question as the voiceover, “But what does it all mean?”

We’re told that we’re experiencing “eternal flagellation”, but honestly that is not helpful whatsoever.

All questions will be answered when Doom Patrol arrives this fall, so when exactly is the release date?

DC’s Doom Patrol will land in September

TVLine reports that the first three episodes will be premiering on September 23, with the remaining as weekly releases on Thursdays through November 11.

Season three kicks off “on the culmination of Dorothy’s (Abigail Shapiro) confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss”, says HBO. “The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.”
