Speaking on The Square Ball Podcast, Angus Kinnear has been speaking about Junior Firpo, labelling Leeds’ summer signing as ‘world class’.

The defender is certainly a talent. After all, he was on Barcelona’s books before joining Leeds, and it seems as though Kinnear rates him very highly.

Indeed, the CEO has called Firpo ‘world class’.

What’s been said?

Kinnear had nothing but good things to say about Firpo.

“We’re delighted with the transfer of Junior,” Kinnear said.

“I think we have a world class left-back, who was hugely highly regarded before he signed for Barcelona. I don’t think Barcelona worked out in the way he would have hoped. But he’s been a brilliant addition already in terms of behind the scenes. A fantastic professional who works really hard, and is totally behind the ethos.”

Gem

It sounds like Leeds United have signed an absolute gem here.

The Whites have needed a left-back for quite some time now, and they’ve seemingly fixed their problem position in the best possible way.

‘World class’ isn’t a phrase that you can use to describe just any player, so Firpo must be a very special footballer.

Having only signed this summer, Firpo is yet to play a Premier League game, but he has appeared in pre-season where he has already impressed some fans.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the left-back has to offer this season.
