You know an assist is special when it gets more attention than a hat-trick hero – and that’s the case with Celtic’s Ryan Christie right now.

Kyogo Furuhashi scored a treble on his home debut for Celtic as Ange Postecoglou’s side thumped Dundee 6-0 at Parkhead.

But Christie also bagged a hat-trick of assists – and the third, for Furuhashi’s third, was a bit special.

Days like this are a reminder that Celtic really, really need to keep the 26-year-old.

His form has been up and down these past few years since Brendan Rodgers left Glasgow.

But in terms of ability and influence, Christie is a massive player for the Bhoys and with his contract expiring in January, this is something that the Scottish giants – who opened extension talks with him on Sunday, before the game [The Sun] – need to get a handle on as soon as possible.
