The Daily Star has claimed how Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy views Jack Grealish’s move from Aston Villa to Manchester City.
What’s the story?
Grealish joined Premier League champions City from Villa earlier in the week.
The Citizens reportedly paid £100 million for the England international attacking midfielder.
It has been reported that Tottenham chairman Levy feels that Grealish costing £100 million ‘actually drives up Kane’s market value’.
The 25-year-old is a fringe player for England, while Tottenham striker Harry Kane is the Three Lions’ captain and is a regular in the starting lineup.
So, Levy will not sell Kane for City’s initial offer of £100 million.
Is it a valid point?
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and could end up as the top scorer in Premier League history.
The striker is at the top of his game at the age of 28 now and would make an immediate impact at City.
Also remember, City need to find a suitable replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Grealish is still a work in progress.
But, you could argue that Grealish’s best years are ahead of him and could repay the transfer fee in full.
Interestingly, Spurs chairman Levy wanted to sign Grealish three years ago.
Sky Sports reported in August 2018 that Tottenham offered Villa £25 million in transfer fee for Grealish, but it was rejected.
